Lifestyle of the WLI Student
In becoming a WLI student every individual is expected to make a commitment to himself, to the school, and most importantly, to God. That commitment is expressed through a personal code of honor, integrity, reverence for God and esteem for man. The concept of WLI is that of continuing growth in the Lord, therefore it is expected that every student reflect a lifestyle that brings glory and honor to the Lord.
Discipline Policies
WLI’s disciplinary policy related to probation, suspension, dismissal and readmission is based on the following concepts: 1) We desire to please the Father. 2) We desire to see the individual restored. 3) We are concerned about those closest to the offending student. 4) We are concerned about our testimony to the world.
Every student is expected to have an attitude of teachability and cooperation. Because a WLI student is seeking continuing education while a member of their home church WLI will work closely with the pastor and leadership of their home church. WLI may seek counsel from the student’s pastor or leadership team if the need arises.
Probation
A student may be placed on probation for: + Excessive absence or tardiness + Financial irresponsibility + Academic failure + Insubordination or willful disregard for an instructor + Failure to follow policies outlined in this catalog + Lying or plagiarism
Dismissal
A student may be dismissed for: + Any of the above listed under probation + Consumption or using any illegal drugs + Involvement in UN-Biblical sexual practices + The conviction of a felony while registered as a student of WLI
Re-enrollment
A student may re-enroll after the person has spent some time under pastoral care in the church, and the student must exhibit genuine repentance and show evidence of restoration. If dismissed for financial irresponsibility all debts to WLI must be resolved before re-enrollment is allowed.
Financial Policies and Procedures
Students may pay for a course in advance or at the start of class. Payments may be made by cash, check, post dated checks, interac, money order or credit card (as available).
There are no refunds after a course is completed or for previously paid tuition after 60 days.
Prior Balances No student can graduate or enroll in another course if there is a balance due from a previous course. Unless there are arrangements made ahead of time with the Director.
Course Books
Students may choose from the list of approved books provided for each course. There are reading lists on our website www.wagnerleadership.ca/StudentCenter

or the Red Leaf Book Store at the Word of Life Centre in Red Deer. They have a lot of books you can view and purchase online as well.
Add/Drop Courses If there are multiple courses being offered at the same time (as in a Fast Track), the student will have until noon or midway through the first day of the course to add/drop a course. Phone calls or verbal agreements with an instructor or staff member will not constitute an official change of status. The change must be made at the registration table or in the WLI office.
Financial Aid or Scholarships WLI does not offer scholarships or grants.
Insufficient Funds WLI charges a $20 returned cheque fee in addition to any fees the banks may charge for handling insufficient funds.
Tuition receipts: Tuition receipts: WLI is not an accredited learning institution. For this reason, we are unable to issue a T2202A tuition receipt for your Canadian taxes. According to IT bulletin 516R2 and the professional opinion of our auditing firm WLI does not qualify as an educational institution under paragraph 118.5(1)(a) of the Income tax act. If you would like a receipt for the amount of tuition you have paid in your tax year, please let us know and we can send you a receipt.
General Information LI reserves the right to make changes in programs, courses and policies in support of its purposes and objectives. We ask those questions pertaining to WLI and its policies are brought first to the Director, Registrar, rather than to instructors or fellow students. This will result in better communications, and it will assist the Director in remaining aware of the concerns of the student body.
Student Information All student files are the property of WLI and all information contained in them is personal; therefore, no information will be given out. Phone numbers, addresses and other information should be obtained directly from the student in question rather than the office.
Student Records A student’s own Tuition standing records are available for inspection by the student. Additionally, a student may challenge any portion of the record. Upon the student’s request, the school will send an official transcript to any college or university if: (1) the student has signed a release of information form; and (2) they have met financial obligations to the school.
Address Changes Whenever there is a change of address, email address or telephone number, please call or write the office and notify us of the change. WLI is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail if the address in the office is no longer current.
Late Reports A student has 90 days from the end of a course, conference or learning event, to submit all book and self study reports to the WLI office. No provision is made for material received after 90 days. However, we realize some students may not complete their work in that time, we ask they communicate with us and ask for an extension. After the 90 days if there have been extenuating circumstances that have kept the student from completing the required material in time the student should explain the reasons on a separate sheet of paper when sending in the book and self study reports for consideration for an exception.
Classroom Guidelines 1) Please wear your name tag at all times. 2) Guest or audit information may be received at the registration table. 3) Drink, but not food is permitted in the classroom dependent on the host facility's policy. 4) Students are allowed breaks during a course at the instructors discretion. Please be seated at the appointed time to help with the smooth flow of impartation. 5) Most teachers leave time for question and answers during the class. We ask you to be considerate of other students and keep your questions in line with the flow of the class and asking questions that could benefit the entire class. Try not to dominate this time period.
