Earning Training Units at Classes or Conferences Anywhere in the World!

•    Every WLI Student can receive 4 TU's for every learning event of approx. 14 hours (approved classes or conferences) and you can read books for extra TU's.

A normal training event is 14 hours of training to obtain 4 TU's, and 2 book reports gives a total of 6 TU's for the event. (Cost $300)
If the event is more than 15 hours, add 1 training unit for each additional 6 hours of teaching.
If the event is only 9-12 hours it would be worth - 3 TU's + book reports.
If the event is 6-8 hours, it would be worth 2 TU's + book reports.

•    A Self Evaluation Paper (SEP) needs to be written for each event of what impartation you received to make you a better worker for the Lord.
•    A person can only do a class once for full credit.  If they decide to do the class again for credit they can earn only 1 training unit, and they must turn in another SEP. The student can read other books for more TU's.

Reading Books to Obtain Training Units:

•    We encourage all students to read 2 books within a 3 month time period after the approved course or conference. This is optional. Two additional TU's can be earned for each 360 + pages of material read when joined to a class, self-directed study or mission trip.
1 TU for each normal size book of 180+ pages
2 TU’s for 2 books and so on.
To receive credit for reading, you must complete one reading report form for each book read. You may also make your own reading report forms that contain the information we request. The books that you read must be related to the subject covered in the class. Most faculty will give a suggested reading list.
Any books written from over 120 Faculty members in North America are automatically approved. Any books associated with an approved conference are approved. Books approved by your senior pastor are usually approved.
Please see our homepage in the student center for more information about reading lists.

Costs:

•    Every Training Unit is $50 CAD.
•    Students can sit in on a live WLI course as an Audit student for approx. $75 per day or $150 for a 2-day course and the student has 3 months after the event to pay the remaining tuition to secure full credits.
•    WLI offers a yearly Graduation service, the cost is $50.

Self Directed Studies:

•    DVD, CD, MP3 and internet classes will earn the same number of TU's as the live class.
•    Some courses have an optional manuals for $10.
•    Special learning projects: Generally 10 hours of reading, research and writing is equal to 1 training unit up to a maximum of 10 TU per year. (Please contact our office for approval before you begin the project to make sure it qualifies)
•    1 additional training unit can be earned for each 10 hours of study, research and writing. A maximum of 10 TU's can be earned for each project. (Please contact our office for approval before you begin the project to make sure it qualifies)
•    If the goal is to write a book (not a training manual), the following can be earned, but approval before you begin is essential and TU's awarded on a case by case basis. There would also be a maximum number of TU's earned each year.
4 TU's for a book 25 - 50 manuscript pages
1 TU for each additional 50 manuscript pages
More training units can be earned if the book is published by a major publisher.

International Mission Trips:

•    1 TU can be given for each day of the trip (travel days not included), up to 10 TU's per trip. A
maximum amount of trips per year will be accepted according to the courses and conferences taken
in the same year.
•    To earn the TU's for a mission trip, a SEP must be turned in along with an itinerary.
•    Normal student tuition fees still apply ($50 per TU earned)
•    There is no tuition discount for traveling expenses or ministry expense.

WLI Canadian students are encouraged to attend WLI courses and Fast Tracks. The WLI Canadian student will be charged a WLI US audit fee of $150 US for each WLI course they attend and an amount of approximately $75.00 for a conference. That amount can be deducted from the Canadian tuition fee up to $150 (CAD), a receipt needs to be handed in. Then the remaining tuition for receiving 4 Training units will be paid to the WLI Canadian National Office and a Self Evaluation Paper also needs to be handed into the WLI Canadian National office.

Job Related Experience:

•  4 TUs for a Church plant for the Senior or Assistant Pastor, after the church has been running for 3 months.
•  Preaching in another church – 1 TU for 1 service, or 2 TU's for weekend ministry (up to 10 TU's per year). A one-page SEP is due for each ministry event.
•  Teaching a WLI fast track, or a Bible College Course of approx 12-15 hours will earn 4 TU's, up to a maximum of 12 TU's per year.
•  Teaching at a conference main session – 1 TU for each session, up to 10 per year. Additional TU's are available if the minister listens to the other conference speakers at the same conference. Every 12-15 hours of listening to training sessions gives 4 TU's. TU's can be earned for less hours, so the student needs to hand in how many hours they ministered and how many hours attending.
•  We also approve TU's for when students have an opportunity to receive mentoring from a faculty member. A SEP would be required. Please contact our office for more details and the maximum TU's allowed for each Diploma level.
•  Earning Training Units in the Performing Arts
•  We also approve TU's for courses in the Performing Arts, such as acting/drama lessons, church and multi-media productions that would enhance a persons ministry in the Local Church or mission. This would be up to a maximum of 10 TU's per WLI diploma. Please contact our office for approval before you begin.
•  All ways of earning TU's need approval and then a SEP upon completion. Please email us with the
above requirements for various ways of earning TU's.
•  Please contact the office by email if you have a question about a unique learning event or training
opportunity you think is profitable for the growth of your ministry.

Earning FREE Courses or Tuition Bonuses:

We all know that word of mouth is the best form of advertising. Here are a couple of ways we say thank you to people all across Canada who tell others about WLI:
Anyone who applies and becomes an "active" WLI student because of your influence will earn you
$100 bonus towards your WLI tuition.
You may be able to attend a WLI course in Canada for FREE, (see Conferences tab) if you are an active WLI student and bring a friend who is not a WLI student (who has never attended a WLI course before), or hasn't heard about WLI.  Help us get the word out to people who haven't heard about WLI yet. (other conditions may apply). Ask us if your situation qualifies and we will allow you to attend for free and will credit your account of the amount your friend pays to attend.

Fees and Tuition

tuitionA one-time application fee of $50 is charged for processing and assessing an application. Please submit this fee with your application. After the assessment of your application has been made, advanced standing may be granted.

Once assessment of your application is complete, you may activate your file and begin earning training units toward your advanced diploma.

If you choose to pay the total amount of your program tuition in advance, a 10% tuition discount is offered.

Tuition costs vary with every student and their unique starting placement and will be based on the number of TUs required for each diploma level (subtracting whatever advanced standing may be granted).  Tuition cost is $50 per training unit for every course you complete with WLI toward your advanced diploma.

It is recommended that tuition for the whole program be paid in advance either in one lump sum, in quarterly payments (every three months) spread over a year, or monthly payments. The other option is to pay as you go, submitting the tuition costs for every course or event in which you earn training units. Payment options are Visa, MasterCard, cheques, postdated cheques, money orders or automatic withdrawal.

There is no minimum amount of time necessary to progress in a diploma program.
